IMessage is an alternative instant text messaging service that is disabled by default in Apple's device menu. Instead, the standard system client SMS and MMS is used, which implements only basic text messaging functions. The iMessage service must be enabled through the corresponding item in the device menu.
Instructions
Step 1
Unlock your iPhone and go to the "Settings" section, the shortcut to which is located on the home screen of the device. Select Messages from the list of options provided.
Step 2
In the list of available features, select iMessage and move the service availability slider to the "Enabled" state. You will need to enter your Apple ID to proceed. Enter your username and password to access your account, and then click "Login".
Step 3
A notification will appear on the screen stating that additional funds may be charged by the operator while using iMessage. Accept this condition by clicking on the "Ok" button. Wait for the service to be activated.
Step 4
Upon activation, you will see a message that iMessage can be transferred between iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices. If you see this text, then the activation of the service was successful.
Step 5
Edit additional options to use. For example, you can enable sending notifications to users that you have read a message through the "Read report" option. If you want messages to be sent as regular SMS when iMessage is unavailable, turn on Send as SMS. You will also be able to configure MMS support and a counter of the number of characters on the screen.
Step 6
To use iMessage, launch Messages and click in the upper right corner on the image of a pen and a piece of paper. After that, select the plus sign in the upper right corner of the screen and specify the recipient of the message by clicking on the "To" field. In this field, you can also enter the recipient's Apple ID.
Step 7
Enter your message in the text box and attach an image gallery item or video to the text. Click on the "Send" button and wait for the receipt of a report on the operation performed. Enabling iMessage is now complete.
