Turning on the network adapter serves the purpose of connecting the computer to the network; turning the adapter on and off in sequence may be required to solve some connection problems. The operation does not require special training and does not require the involvement of additional software.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and go to the "Control Panel" item to initiate the procedure for turning on the network adapter.
Step 2
Go to "Network and Internet" and expand the link "Network and Sharing Center".
Step 3
Select the "Manage network connections" item and open the context menu of the "Network adapter" object by right-clicking.
Step 4
Check the Enable box to complete the enable operation, or apply the Disable check box to undo the previous action.
Step 5
Confirm the execution of the selected command by entering the administrator password in the system prompt window.
Step 6
Return to the main "Start" menu and go to the "Run" item for an alternative procedure for enabling the network adapter using the "Command Prompt" tool.
Step 7
Enter cmd in the Open field and click OK to confirm the launch.
Step 8
Call the context menu of the found object by clicking the right mouse button and specify the command "Run as administrator".
Step 9
Enter netsh interface set interface name = Local Area Connection admin = disable. Next and press the function key Enter to confirm the execution of the command to disconnect the network adapter.
Step 10
Enter netsh interface set interface name = Local Area Connection admin = enabled to perform the NIC enable operation and press the softkey labeled Enter to apply the selected changes.
