The use of a flash is not always required when photographing. In some cases, it will only damage the content of the picture. Then it must be turned off. How to do this depends on the device.

Instructions

Step 1

Digital cameras use a joystick to control flash modes. One of its lateral positions is marked with a lightning bolt. If, without entering the device menu (this is important), press the corresponding side button of the joystick, the display will cyclically show icons: just lightning, lightning with the letter A, crossed out lightning. The first corresponds to the always-on flash, the second to the automatic mode, in which the flash fires depending on the lighting conditions, and the third to the always-off flash.

Step 2

In cell phones, the flash is usually LED. It is very weak, if any. To control it, enter the camera mode and press the one of the soft keys that calls up the menu. Select the item that allows you to control the flash. You will see three options indicated by the same icons as described in the previous step. Choose the one you want among them.

Step 3

Film cameras usually do not have a menu system. In such a device, if it has an electric film rewind, turn off the flash with a special switch. In the absence of such a switch, the flash will always work in either automatic or forced mode, depending on the model of the device. You cannot turn it off by removing the batteries - the film will not be rewound. Also, do not try to block it with your finger, as the bright light passing through the finger will turn out to be red and the photo will turn out in the appropriate tones. In addition, the trigger pulse is high voltage, and you can receive an electric shock to your finger directly through the protective transparent pad.

Step 4

For a manual tape rewinding film camera, turn off the flash by removing the batteries before opening the lens (if you remove them after opening the lens, the capacitor may have time to charge, and the flash will still fire, albeit perhaps not at full strength).

Step 5

The easiest way is to turn off an external flash. Either turn it off with the switch located directly on it, and then give an idle pulse with the test button, or simply disconnect it from the device. Do not touch the contacts on it.
