Step 1
Failure of the file system on the flash drive may occur due to improper shutdown of the device. To avoid such a problem, use the Safe Removal feature.

Some drives are equipped with special protection. Take a close look at the USB flash drive: you can find a small lever on the side. If you yourself, or someone else inadvertently moved it, the Usb flash protection is activated. When connected to a computer, a message will appear stating that the data stored on the removable disk is write-protected. You will not be able to copy files or write new ones. Move this lever to the opposite side and try to reconnect the device to the computer. The flash drive should work normally.

If such a lever is not found, try renaming Usb flash. Insert the USB stick into the USB port. Then click on the "My Computer" icon located on the desktop. Right-click on it, then on the removable disk icon, select the "Properties" line. You will see several tabs: "Autostart", "General", "Access", "Hardware". Usb flash can be renamed in the General tab.

After changing the name, remove the USB flash drive from the computer, not forgetting about the safe functionality, and insert it again. If the error persists, try to restore the defaults by clicking the corresponding line in the "Autostart" tab.

Check for errors by using Disk Defragmenter. The data on the media will not be affected. Go to the "Tools" menu and click "Disk Defragmenter". The "Hardware" tab and the "Properties" menu allow you to diagnose the removable disk or optimize it to improve performance.
Step 6
Usb flash has a varied appearance, memory capacity, and is sometimes equipped with additional functions. For example, a SanDisk Ultra flash drive - the security function is built in at the hardware level. You can unlock and change such a password by right-clicking on the removable disk icon. Look through the menu, find the line "Password protection". Leave the pop-up window blank - this feature will be disabled. Set a password if you need to protect your device.

You can set a password for USB flash using special programs. For example, USB Secure allows you to protect the drive - the program works automatically. You can reset the protection only with the help of the program that you used when installing it.
