Today it is practically impossible to do without a satellite dish, because there are not many “basic” channels and they are usually all of poor quality. Installing and configuring an antenna is a rather complicated process that requires not only time expenditures, but certain knowledge.

Necessary

PC, Internet, Satellit Antenna Alignment utility

Instructions

Step 1

Open the Google Earth service. You need to find your hometown and your home on the map. Next, put a tag on the house (click on "Add tag").

Step 2

Write down the coordinates. To do this, click on the set mark with the left mouse button. In the open window, in the latitude and longitude fields, the coordinates of your house will appear. For example: Latitude 65 54 01; Longitude 50 67 94.

Step 3

Run a program called Satellit Antenna Alignment. In this program you need to find out the azimuth and elevation values. The angle allows you to determine how high - low the satellite dish should "look". To do this, in the right part of the window, enter the coordinates of the house and click analysis. Record your findings. On the left side of the window, browse all the available satellite TV operators based on the angle and select the option that suits you. At any time, you can change one operator to another, but only for a certain angle.

Step 4

Go back to Google Earth and click Show Ruler. A window will open in front of you where you need to track the direction of the azimuth. Target - the satellite dish should be directed to the selected satellite. You know the azimuth value. Put the starting point on our house with the left mouse click and with the cursor, without releasing the left mouse button, drive around the house until you stop at the desired azimuth value. Draw a line for yourself on the map so long that you can understand the exact direction of the satellite (for example, focusing on neighboring buildings).

Step 5

Aim the antenna in the chosen direction and secure the main bolts. But not tight, the satellite dish should move freely down - up. Perform the initial tuning on the most powerful channel. Next, proceed with more precise tuning. Switch on the weakest receiving channel and adjust the antenna for the best picture quality. Once done, securely fix the antenna in this position.
