Modern television is more focused on digital broadcasting. It is considered to be more progressive and advanced. However, in order to understand what its advantage is, you need to study the terminology deeper.

Analog TV

Analog television is built on the basis of an analog signal. It runs continuously, which is not an indicator of quality. After all, if the signal is interrupted, the whole picture and sound suffers. Among the advantages of an analog signal is the fact that it is easily picked up by a conventional terrestrial antenna. But despite its obvious advantages, the analog signal is considered obsolete today and is used in few places. The disadvantages of analog TV are called poor-quality signal, lack of secure connection, etc.

Analog TVs can be found in the provinces. Digital TV is not profitable for small towns. And people get used to it and do not want to change their traditions.

In addition, the analog signal cannot reveal the full potential of modern video technology: plasma and liquid crystal televisions.

Digital television

The digital signal, in contrast to the analog, comes in small portions, separated by pauses. Due to this, the signal becomes more reliable and it is rather difficult to violate the integrity of the broadcast picture when using it.

Despite the fact that the signal is transmitted in portions, the distance does not affect the quality of the signal in any way. And this is the obvious advantage of such television over analogue.

In addition, the digital signal is capable of broadcasting more channels than the analog version. Therefore, those who choose just such a TV receive more than a hundred channels of various topics.

The analog signal can be transmitted over digital networks. Just before that, it must be digitized beforehand.

Cable TV

Cable television by its name defines only the method of transmitting information, but not the signal. So, for example, a digital or analog signal prepared for transmission can be transmitted in one or another transmission medium: through a copper cable, ether, fiber, etc.

Therefore, you should not single out cable TV in a separate form, because it can be both digital and analog.

Before you choose the most suitable television option for you, be sure to weigh all the options. Assess the appliances you have in your home. After all, if you have a tube TV, connecting a digital signal will be problematic, but modern LCD TVs have analog connectors. Also inquire about the possibilities your TV providers offer you.
