On the board of modern radio receivers, you can observe the current time, exchange rates, weather information, news from the world of sports, the names of musical works and other useful information. This system is called Radio Data System or RDS for short.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure your radio is RDS compatible. To do this, you should first read the attached instructions. The functionality and operation of RDS may vary depending on the type of device. The most common devices that support this function are table receivers and stereos, car radios, cell phones and MP3 players.
Step 2
Turn on RDS on your music center. To do this, press the button to switch to radio mode. Look at the scoreboard. If, in addition to the name of the radio station, additional information is displayed on it, for example, weather information or the news line, then the RDS function is already automatically turned on. Otherwise, go to the device settings by clicking the corresponding button. On the Radio tab, find the RDS option and turn it on.
Step 3
Connect the RDS function on your car radio. Most often, these devices have a large number of parameters regarding the operation of the radio, therefore, in most cases, a special key on the device or the corresponding function in the menu is responsible for turning on RDS. In addition, many car radios allow you to adjust the amount of information displayed.
Step 4
Make sure to connect RDS on your cell phone. Like other devices, the built-in radio already supports this function from the very beginning or allows you to use it in the program menu. However, some firmware does not include it or even the radio application itself is missing. Go to the manufacturer's official website and download the appropriate phone update, if available.
