Firmware refers to replacing or updating the software of a cell phone. Usually, the phone is flashed to install new versions of programs or fix problems that have arisen. This action may well be performed independently by a person who is not familiar with the internal structure of the phone or is not versed in programming.

Instructions
Step 1
Go to https://europe.nokia.com/A4176089. Find the Software section, enter it and select the Download subsection. In the proposed list of programs, look for the firmware for your Nokia phone model, you can use the search function on the site.
Step 2
Download Nokia Software Updater, which will install the required firmware. You do not need to manually download the firmware itself. Install Nokia Software Updater and restart your computer.
Step 3
Connect your Nokia mobile phone to your PC with a USB cable. Make sure your phone battery is still sufficiently charged for a couple of hours of use beforehand. If the phone is discharged during the firmware process, then the procedure will have to be repeated anew at best.
Step 4
Launch Nokia Software Updater and download the firmware for your phone model. If your Internet speed is low, then the download process can take a long time, since the firmware is a rather heavy program against the background of other telephone software. After the download is complete, the automatic installation of the firmware will start.
Step 5
Do not touch the mobile phone while the installation is in progress. If, during the installation of the program, strange noises, fragments of messages or scraps of images are displayed on the screen of your mobile phone, do not worry - this is normal. Just wait until the end of the installation.
Step 6
In the Nokia Software Updater window, read the message that the firmware has been installed on your phone. Disconnect your mobile phone from your computer. After the installation is complete, the Nokia phone should automatically reboot. If this does not happen, restart the mobile phone manually by pressing the power off button and then turning on the phone. Dial "* # 0000 #" on the phone - the currently installed firmware version should be displayed.
