Those who have to independently repair household and other electronic appliances often have to face a situation when it is necessary to remove a microcircuit from the circuit board. This operation requires more attention than soldering conventional capacitors or resistors. It should be performed with care and thoroughness. There are some small tricks that allow you to solder the microcircuit without serious effort.

Step 1

Using a soldering iron with a thin tip, sequentially remove excess solder from the microcircuit legs. Prepare a thin wire that you can take from a stranded wire. It will perform the function of removing heat. Slide the wire under the pins of the microcircuit that you need to solder. This job is best done with tweezers.

Step 2

Secure the wire by soldering to one of the adjacent elements of the circuit board, or wind its end around the terminal of the unnecessary part. Otherwise, the wire at the most inopportune moment can jump out and interfere with work.

Step 3

Use a heated soldering iron to process each leg of the microcircuit in turn. First warm up one half of the microcircuit, and then the other part. After the legs are free of solder, gently pull them out of the slots and bend them to the side. When all the legs of the microcircuit are free, align them with tweezers.

Step 4

For particularly difficult cases, use a syringe needle. The needle must have an inner diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the microcircuit legs.

Step 5

Lubricate the pins of the microcircuit in the soldering areas with rosin or other flux. Put the needle on the first pin of the microcircuit and start heating the solder with a soldering iron. At the same time, the needle should be slightly turned from side to side, pressing and releasing. Otherwise, your homemade tool may be firmly soldered to the leg of the microcircuit.

Step 6

When the needle enters the circuit board, remove the soldering iron and slowly rotate the needle until it comes off the stem. Process the remaining pins of the microcircuit in the same way, freeing them from solder. To solder one pin in the described way, it takes no more than three seconds.

Step 7

When freeing the pins of the microcircuit, make sure that the soldering iron does not get very hot. Otherwise, you can damage the design of the part, rendering it unusable.
