Some modern TVs have a USB input. By connecting a USB flash drive, digital camera or card reader with a memory card to it, you can view photos on the big screen. In the absence of such an entrance, you can equip a TV with it yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
Take an unnecessary DVD player that has a USB input. It may not even be completely serviceable: the mechanical part may not work for it. The main thing is that the electronics are efficient. Online auctions will help you find such a player.
Step 2
If the player, in addition to the mechanical part, has a faulty power supply, use a standard power supply from a computer. It is important that it be of the ATX standard, since DVD-player boards in most cases also require a voltage of 3.3 V. The board next to the connector for connecting the power supply most often indicates which voltage to supply. If there are no such instructions, you will not be able to use the player with a PC power supply.
Step 3
Connect the player to the TV in one way or another (via RCA or SCART connectors, depending on the models of the devices). On the TV, select the video input to which you connected the player. Turn on the power of the player. If a computer power supply is used for this, short the green wire to the black one. Subsequently, a switch can be installed for this.
Step 4
Having seen the splash screen on the screen, wait until the download is complete, and then connect a USB flash drive, card reader with a memory card or a digital camera to the player. The latter will need to turn on the power. It must be able to work in removable storage mode. Never try to connect a removable hard drive that does not have a separate power supply to the USB connector of your DVD player - you will damage the player.
Step 5
If a list of folders and files appears on the screen, the connection was successful. Try using the player's keyboard to navigate through directories, open photos for viewing.
Step 6
You may find that your keyboard does not have all the buttons you need to navigate through directories. If the remote control for the player is not preserved, buy it. When purchasing, you must correctly indicate the manufacturer's name and model of the device.
Step 7
Since the mechanical part of the player is not used, position it as you like, including vertically behind the TV so that it is not visible. Use a small mirror at an angle of 45 degrees to provide access to it for the remote control radiation. Equip the player with a USB extension cable to make it easier to connect media. To avoid electrostatic breakdown of the USB player input, do not bring the end of the extension cord to the CRT screen.
Step 8
To connect a digital camera to a TV, sometimes you can do without an intermediate link in the form of a player. Use the video output of the unit for this.
