All Android phones and tablets come with a ton of pre-installed apps. These are email clients, applications for communication in social networks, programs for working with images and documents. The manufacturer, unfortunately, cannot foresee all the wishes of the user. Fortunately, the Android platform allows the user to choose and install an interesting application himself.
How to choose?
Regardless of which application you want to install for yourself, be it a game or a program for communicating on social networks, when choosing, be guided by the following points.
First, pay attention to the number of downloads of the program. A large number of downloads is always a sign of the popularity of an application.
Secondly, be sure to read user reviews for the selected application. Even if the program has a huge number of downloads, there are almost always pitfalls in it in the form of a lack of Russian localization or poor compatibility with your device.
Third, follow the recommendations of your friends who use an Android phone or tablet. In most cases, they will be happy to share their experiences with you. In addition, you can find a lot of useful information on thematic sites and forums.
Should I buy or not?
As you know, there are paid and free Android apps. The price of applications rarely exceeds a couple of dollars, so the purchase is usually not very painful for the wallet.
If for some reason you cannot, or do not want to purchase the application, you can almost always find a free alternative to it. The only exceptions are the "top" games and applications that have no analogues.
There are often sales of games and programs in application stores, and there is a possibility that the application you are interested in can significantly decrease in price, or even become free for a certain period of time. Add the application you are interested in to your "wishlist" and you will not miss the long-awaited sale. Price change notification will be sent to you by email.
Where can I download?
In addition to the official Google app store, there are several other alternatives to this service that may be useful to you in your search for an interesting Android app (see the Additional Resources section for links to the resources described).
The app store of the largest online retailer Amazon.
Opera Mobile Store will offer you not only applications and games for Android, but also programs for iOS, WindowsPhone and even Blackberry.
Mobile9 is an application store with elements of a social network, offering over two million free games and applications for every taste. The downside of the store is the almost complete lack of application moderation. So, all installations from this store you have to do at your own peril and risk.
The Getjar App Store is a pretty interesting resource. Known for its exclusive deals and everyday app sales. It was in this store that Rovio provided the opportunity to download their legendary Angry Birds prior to their official release.
Websites offering various programs for Android continue to appear on the Internet from time to time, so this is not a complete list of sources from which you can download an interesting Android application.
