With the beginning of the era of computerization, the good old fax machines are a thing of the past. Now progress allows you to send a fax without using a separate device. Everything can be configured through the computer software. If you have a fax modem connected, this will allow you to find a telephone line connection with your computer and send regular faxes. If necessary, you can set the fax to automatic operation, which will greatly simplify the office work.

Instructions
Step 1
The main work on sending and receiving faxes is carried out by a fax modem. It can be internal (used by employees of a given company or a separate office) and external (configured to work with documents from different sources). Installing and configuring a fax modem is easy thanks to modern technologies.
Step 2
First, install the fax modem and connect it to the telephone line. Set up a fax modem on your computer - you need to open "Start" and select the "Windows Fax and Scan" folder in the program section. Select the Fax tab, then Create Fax. As a result, you will run the Fax Setup Wizard, which will help you do all the necessary work to install and configure your new device.
Step 3
In the fax setup wizard, click "Connect to a fax modem" and then follow its instructions until the modem is fully configured. In addition to a single fax modem on a separate computer, you can configure a fax server for a corporate computer network.
Step 4
If you need to connect to a fax server where fax modems are already installed and configured, you need to know the name of this computer on your network with its network address. To add a new fax via the path "Start" -> "All Programs" -> "Windows Fax and Scan" -> "Fax", open the "Service" menu. There, in the "Fax Accounts" section, select "Add" - a new account for your fax will be added. Using the fax settings wizard, you connect to the fax server on the network.
Step 5
Automatic fax operation is set in the "Configuring Receive Faxes" section of the "Start" menu in the "Printers and Faxes" tab. Through this setting, you set the time for receiving a signal for a fax and its automatic printing: for example, after 9 rings of the telephone line, fax reception will be switched on automatically. You set the phone signal time yourself.
Step 6
If you do not already have the necessary files from your operating system CD for faxing on your computer, you need to copy them from there or from another source.
