For many, after buying an iPhone, it becomes a revelation that it is impossible to use a regular mp3 song as a call. The melody for the call must be recorded in m4r format and be no longer than 40 seconds.

Instructions

Step 1

If you don't already have iTunes, be sure to download it from the official Apple website and install it on your computer - without it, downloading music to your iPhone will be problematic.

Step 2

After installing iTunes, launch the program. In the menu on the left, select the "Music" section and drag your music notes into it.

Step 3

Select the desired song and right-click on it. In the context menu, select the "Information" item. Go to the "Options" tab and check the boxes next to "Start" and "Stop".

Step 4

Enter the start time of the ringtone in the Start field and the end time in the Stop field. Remember that the length of the melody should not exceed 40 seconds.

Step 5

Click OK, then right-click the composition again and choose Create AAC Version.

Step 6

Wait a few seconds until a ringtone you created with the same name appears next to it. Drag it to your desktop and change the file extension from m4a to m4r.

Step 7

Now drag the file to the Ringtones section of the iTunes menu and connect your iPhone to your computer.

Step 8

After the iPhone is identified and added as a new device in the iTunes menu, drag the ringtone you have created from the "Ringtones" folder you already know to the folder of the same name on the iPhone.

Step 9

iTunes will inform you that the devices are syncing, and the ringtone will appear on your iPhone. Open it and select the menu "Settings" - "Sounds" - "Ringtone". Find your melody and check it with a checkbox. Now your melody will be used as a ringtone.

Step 10

To install a file on a ringtone, you need to change its format to.m4r and upload it to the iPhone. To convert a file to this format, first open iTunes. Click on the File item and select the Add file to library option. In the list that opens, select the song you need and add it. You can only put music from your computer on the ringtone, songs that you bought in iTunes cannot be put on a call.

Step 11

You can only put on the ringtone a recording no longer than 40 seconds, so first select the desired passage in the song. Listen to the recording and note the start and end times of the desired section of the song.

Step 12

Right-click on the song you want and select Information. Here find the item "Information" and go to the tab "Options". Here, using the settings, select the start and end time of the ringtone of your choice. After setting the required time interval, click the Ok button.

Step 13

Right-click on the processed song and select Create AAC Version. Immediately after this, an audio recording should appear, cut according to the parameters specified earlier.

Step 14

The next step for Windows owners is to go to the Start menu, select Control Panel there and go to Folder Options (Folder Options). Here select the View tab and uncheck the Hide extensions for registered file types checkbox. Then select the created section of the song with the right mouse button and click on "Show in Windows Explorer". Alternatively, you can add a recording by dragging and dropping it from the iTunes window to any folder. In the window that opens, you will see a file with the "m4a" extension. Change the extension to "m4r" (the standard iPhone ringtone format). Now you can remove the shortened version of the song from iTunes and uncheck the settings for the original song.

Step 15

Drag the resulting m4r file to iTunes. A new menu item called "Sounds" should appear in the menu. At this point you will find the desired ringtone.

Step 16

All that remains is to sync your iPhone with your computer and the ringtone will appear on your smartphone. If the last synchronization was a long time ago, the operation may take a long time. Then go to the settings of your IPhone, select Sounds, Ringtone sub-item and find the created ringtone there. Choose it. The ringtone you created is now set as a ringtone on your iPhone.

Step 17

The easiest way to create a ringtone is to download the archive with the iTools utility. Then you just need to unzip the archive anywhere and run iTools. The program does not require installation. Then you need to connect your iPhone to your computer and wait for the phone to be recognized by iTools. ITunes must be installed on your computer for iTools to detect your device. After recognition, go to the Music tab and select the section with the same name in the right column. Remember that you need to select the section with music on the device. Check the box next to the song you want to make a ringtone from. If the song hasn't been downloaded to your device yet, drag it to the iTools window. Click on "Create Ringtone". Indicate the beginning and end of the ringtone. The program allows you to listen to the created melody. After specifying a segment of the song, which will become a ringtone, the melody will appear on the iPhone. You can find it in the Settings menu, Sounds sub-item. The ringtone is completely created, it remains only to click on the "Import to phone" button.

Step 18

You can cut out the necessary piece from a piece of music using a special program. Any music editor is suitable for this, including the free one. You can convert to the desired format through iTunes.

Step 19

Another option to install a ringtone on iPhone involves using a special RingtonesMaker application. To do this, you need to select the desired song from your list of songs and then set the ring range, indicate from what second the melody will start and when it will end. You can add additional effects such as smooth start. You need to save the selection to your iTunes library, but first you need to connect your iPhone to your computer. To do this, you need to find RingtonesMaker and the created file in the applications, and then synchronize the Sounds folder. The application also has the function of recording to a voice recorder, i.e. you can put on the call any sounds and music you have recorded.
