Very often, if you use a vacuum cleaner without a filter, the engine starts humming strongly, and it becomes impossible to work with the equipment. If you do not urgently take action and do not fix the malfunction, you can simply lose the vacuum cleaner. To do this, you need to be able to properly disassemble and clean the engine.
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the air suction unit from the vacuum cleaner body. Note, remove the cover from the fan and unscrew the nut on the axis of the vacuum cleaner motor. Please note that the nut may in some cases have a left-hand thread, so if it does not turn, do not press hard so as not to break it.
Step 2
Remove the alternating aluminum fan discs (without blades and with blades) from the axle. Also remove the bushings that separate one disc from the other. Be careful and remember in what order the discs and bushings were located so that during assembly you can install them in exactly the same order. Lay them out in order on a clean cloth as they are removed.
Step 3
Then remove the screws that hold the motor bearing hold-down and remove the covers. If you have already disassembled the engine, then change the lubricant. This requires removing the old grease and flushing the bearings with gasoline. Make sure that no gasoline gets on the winding. Fill the bearings with grease.
Step 4
Reassemble the engine in reverse order. When assembling the vacuum cleaner, make sure that you do not leave any “extra part” inside, because if they get into the fan, such parts can destroy it. After assembly, make sure that the fan rotates freely by turning the armature by hand. It should make 10-15 revolutions without crunching and extraneous sounds - the sound should be even.
Step 5
For good engine performance, periodically change or clean the intake air filter. Failure to do so will cause the engine to overheat due to dust adhering to it and eventually burn out. The vacuum cleaner needs constant maintenance - change the lubricant every two years and check the condition of the engine annually, even if it is not a cause for concern. Then your vacuum cleaner will serve you for a long time and properly and you will not have to carry out expensive repairs.
