It is necessary

  • - headphones you would like to clean;
  • - hydrogen peroxide;
  • - regular or masking tape;
  • - small capacity (for example, a plastic bottle cap;
  • - mini vacuum cleaner (for cleaning office equipment)
  • or a regular vacuum cleaner;
  • - a lid that can tightly plug the pipe of the vacuum cleaner;
  • - insulating tape;
  • - ballpoint pen without a rod.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare your headphones. Try to clean them from the outside as much as possible beforehand. If your headphones have rubber caps, remove them.

Step 2

Take a small, shallow container prepared in advance. A regular plastic bottle cap is perfect. Pour hydrogen peroxide into the container so that the depth is no more than 4 mm, otherwise you risk damaging the membrane of the headphones, and this will affect the sound quality.

Step 3

Gently place your headphones in a container of hydrogen peroxide with the mesh down. Secure the entire structure on top with ordinary or masking tape so that the earphone does not accidentally slip out or turn over. Leave the headphones to soak for 20-25 minutes. The secret is that hydrogen peroxide can effectively dissolve earwax without damaging important parts of the earphone.

Step 4

After about half an hour, passive cleaning will end. You will need to draw the dissolved sulfur and hydrogen peroxide residues out of the earphone housing. It's great if you have a mini vacuum cleaner for cleaning office equipment. But if suddenly you have not acquired such a technique, then you can adapt a regular vacuum cleaner to clean the headphones. Take a lid, which is approximately equal in diameter to the diameter of the vacuum cleaner pipe. Wrap it with duct tape for better fixation. Make a hole in the center of the cap, into which the body of the ballpoint pen can fit snugly. If necessary, wrap tape around the handle body to secure it in the lid, and you've got a great vacuum cleaner attachment for cleaning your headphones.

Step 5

Now proceed to active cleaning of the headphones. Peel off the tape and carefully remove the headphones from the container. Never turn them over! Liquid can damage the membrane.

Vacuum the headphones gently. Make sure all dirt is sucked out.

Step 6

Check the sound.

If you are not satisfied with the result, repeat all the steps one more time.
