Sometimes you want to capture yourself against the background of some object or in the company of friends, but there are no people who want to take a picture of you. It's okay, because the camera itself can take pictures if it is correctly set up. Or rather, use the "timer" function.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure your camera has a timer (or self-timer) function. If you do not know how to turn it on, read the instructions for the camera.
Step 2
Adjust the light settings. If you're new to photography, choose automatic mode. Use a flash in dimly lit rooms.
Step 3
Find a support for the camera. A table, chair or any other piece of furniture in the room, any flat surface outdoors will do just fine. Do not forget about the safety of your camera - check if it is securely standing, if it can not fall from an accidental shock.
Step 4
A tripod is ideal. If you often photograph yourself, consider buying one. With a tripod, you can easily capture footage of yourself.
Step 5
Compose your shot. Look in the viewfinder (or the camera display) at the place where you are going to be photographed. If you are not filming alone, ask your friends to stand up for the shot. Bring focus. Adjust the desired magnification (of course, from the place where the camera will stand), take a test shot. Whether the light settings are in order, whether everything fits into the frame, whether there are any foreign objects in the photo.
Step 6
Set a timer. Typically a descent delay is suggested at 5, 10, 30 seconds. Estimate how long it will take you to get to the shooting location and take the desired pose. Set the timer, press the trigger - and run to your place. However, you should not rush too much - you will only create an atmosphere of panic and laughter, which can interfere with the original idea.
Step 7
Warn your friends that in how many seconds the shutter will release. Usually cameras mark every second with a beep. Make sure that no one in the frame moves or changes the pose until the moment the photo is taken.
Step 8
Wait for the beep that the photo is ready and see the result. Timer photography can be tricky, so be prepared to try multiple times.
