Each technique has its own mileage, for example, the wear of a car engine is calculated by the number of kilometers wound. Cameras also have mileage, which can be expressed in the number of frames captured (shutter clicks). If you know this value, it is easy to determine the wear of the device itself.
It is necessary
- - ShowExif;
- - ACDSee Photo Manager.
Instructions
Step 1
When you press the shutter button of the camera, several processes take place that use the internal stuffing of the device (electronic circuits). One of them is writing data to a file of any format. The name of the data included in the file description exceeds several dozen parameters: manufacturer, camera model, orientation, date, number of pixels, white balance, image version, flash tilt, etc.
Step 2
Among all these parameters, you can find the number of frames captured. Using the ShowExif program, you can not only find a specific value, but also edit any of the above parameters, as well as many others. Information about a graphic format file is called metadata. Metadata is encoded information.
Step 3
ShowExif is a free product and takes about 1 MB, so you can easily download it from the Internet. It does not require installation and is launched by double-clicking the left mouse button on the camera icon.
Step 4
After launching it, specify the path to the directory with photos taken on the tested camera. In the uploaded list, select any image and select it. A multilevel table with photo data will appear in the right part of the program window.
Step 5
Find the item Total Number of Shutter Releases - the value of this parameter is the desired value (the number of frames taken).
Step 6
If you use the ACDSee program as a viewer of graphic files on your computer, you can find out the number of frames in another way. Open any image captured by your camera and press the key combination Ctrl + Enter. The required value can be found in the Total Number line.
Step 7
Sometimes camera sellers artificially reset the internal counters - this is done for a more profitable sale of equipment. Also, this value may not correspond to valid data if the camera shutter has been replaced with a new one at least once.
