Electronic or digital books are becoming more and more popular these days. Such a book is a compact device for displaying electronic text, it takes up very little space, while accommodating a huge amount of information. Anyone who has already mastered the techniques of working with a personal computer can learn to use the e-book.
Prepare the device for use. To do this, charge the e-book by connecting it to a charger or computer using a USB cable. If you are using the book for the first time, charge the battery for the first time within 10-12 hours. Insert an SD card into the dedicated slot. Study the instructions for the e-book to understand the control features.
After the battery is fully charged, turn on the device by pressing the power button and holding it for 1-2 seconds. After loading, you will see the main menu on the screen, which will display the books available in the library. For quick access to recently viewed books, place the cursor on one of them using the "Up", "Down" and "OK" buttons.
If you want to add new books to the device, connect the book to your computer using a USB cable. The internal memory of the device and the SD card will appear on the computer as two new drives. Using Windows Explorer, copy the books you want to the appropriate folder on your device or SD card. As a rule, e-books allow you to read text files of the most common formats: fb2, txt, doc, pdf, rtf, html, djvu and some others.
The process of reading an e-book involves turning pages. To go to the next page, press the top flip button; if you want to go back, press the lower button. Many models have built-in ability to remap buttons to your liking. Also, for the convenience of using the device, you can change the font size in the "Settings" section.
As you read the e-book, you can create bookmarks by selecting the appropriate item from the menu. If necessary, you can later refer to the bookmarks made to re-read interesting passages in the book. To delete a bookmark that has become unnecessary, select it from the list on the bookmarks bar and click the "Delete" button.
Use the Search function to quickly find individual words or combinations of words. On the screen you will see a keyboard with which you can enter the desired word or phrase. After entering, the search mode will turn on, and the found words will be highlighted in the text. Please note that the search mode in some e-books is not available for djvu files.
As you become familiar with the capabilities of the e-book, you will learn how to choose the parameters that are most comfortable for reading: type of font, its size, line spacing, and margin width. Most models also provide the ability to change the position of the text on the screen depending on the orientation of the book. Over time, you will find that the digital book is very convenient and easy to use.
