Often, when communicating on the network, in forums or blogs, you may be faced with the requirement to confirm what was said and upload a screenshot - a screenshot of the monitor confirming the information you see on the screen at the moment. No, this does not mean that since you do not have a camera at hand, you will not be able to take a picture of the monitor. There are other ways to do this.

Instructions

Step 1

You can take a screenshot of the monitor by lightly pressing one finger on the magic PrtScR (Print Screen) key, which is usually located on the right side of the keyboard in the top row of keys or next to the numeric keypad. After that, everything that at that moment was displayed on the screen of your monitor was copied in the form of a bitmap into the memory of your computer.

Step 2

Now your task is to extract this image and record and save it. There is nothing difficult in this either, since you can use any graphic editor for this. The simplest such editor, Paint, is built into the Windows system and you can always find it in the list of standard tasks in the Start menu.

Step 3

Open the editor, create a file and select "Edit" in the main menu, execute the "Paste" command. The screenshot will appear as an image, which you can always save by setting its format - *.bmp, *.gif, *..jpg

Step 4

If you need to take a photo of only the active window, then use the Alt + PrtScr key combination in order not to cut its “photo” from the screenshot of the entire screen. A picture can be placed in a graphics editor as described above.
