Instructions

Step 1

In fact, a cell phone is just one of the varieties of a mobile phone, however, due to its greatest popularity, it is often referred to simply as a mobile phone. Cellular technology is about creating a dense coverage area using base stations arranged in hexagons like honeycombs, hence the name.

Step 2

The first idea to create a mobile telephone was born in 1947 in the USA. Ten years later, in the USSR, engineer Kupriyanovich demonstrated a duplex mobile radiotelephone, which weighed 3 kilograms. In 1966, at the Interorgtechnika-66 exhibition, engineers from Bulgaria showed a sample that can be considered the progenitor of modern cell phones: a mobile device RAT-0, 5 and a base station for 6 subscribers.

Step 3

The year of the appearance of the first cell phone is called 1973, when Motorola employee Martin Cooper invented the Motorola DynaTAC prototype and called his competitor AT&T on it. The dimensions of this device were quite impressive: about 23 centimeters long and 12 in width, and the weight was over a kilogram.

Step 4

The result of the work of Motorola was the release of the commercial model DynaTAC 8000x, which appeared on the market in 1984. The interest in the new product was very great: thousands of people wanted to buy a phone for themselves, despite the fact that its price was about $ 4,000. From that moment on, the development of cellular communications could no longer be stopped.

Step 5

On the territory of the USSR, mobile communications (and the first cellular operator) appeared only in 1991. A three-kilogram device with a connection cost $ 4,000, and the cost of a minute of conversation was $ 1. However, over 10,000 people purchased these phones in less than 5 years.

Step 6

Cellular communication of the GSM standard, familiar to us, appeared in 1992 in Germany. In Russia, GSM base stations began to be installed only in 1994. The first communicator, that is, a cell phone with an additional set of functions, such as access to e-mail, was called Nokia Communicator and was launched on the market in 1996.
