It is finished, you are holding in your hands what you have dreamed of for so long - a DVD player. For half an hour you examine the box, then the player itself, the remote control, try to find the batteries, then insert them into the remote control. But after all, the DVD was not purchased in order to gather dust on the shelf, its main task is to provide pleasure by playing video from discs. So, for this you need to connect it to the TV.
It is necessary
- - connecting wires
- - RCA-RCA, SCART-SCART, SCART-RCA, S-video adapters
Instructions
Step 1
First, take a look at what else is in the box. Even the simplest DVD player comes with a cable to connect it to the TV. Most often this is an RCA wire - in common people "bells", pins at both ends of three different colors: yellow - video, white and red - audio (this is an international standard). Look at the back of the DVD for the connectors. Find connectors with the same colors as the pins of the wire, yellow will be labeled video, and white and red - audio - L - R. Look for the same connectors on the TV, they can be on the front panel, side or back. Connect them with a wire according to the colors, turn on the corresponding video channel on the TV and enjoy.
Step 2
It may be that the kit will include a SCART wire - a wide connector with two rows of contacts inside. This wire collects less interference in the transmission of video and audio signals. It is the easiest to connect, since no additional wires, besides itself, are required. Find the matching connectors on your DVD and TV. That's right, there is one such connector on the turntable, and two on the TV - one is more adapted for the incoming signal, the other for the outgoing signal. Look at the inscriptions and symbols of the connectors: a circle with an arrow inward is for incoming, if an arrow in the direction of the circle is for outgoing.
Step 3
The most exotic connection methods can be the S-video output, which requires a special wire. From the name it is clear that this channel is intended for transmitting only video signal; to transmit sound, use additional “bells” by connecting them to the corresponding connectors of the TV and DVD. Another rare connection method is the composite output connection. This is the same connection with "bells", only there are five, three (green, blue, red) connectors for transmitting a video signal, an audio signal is also transmitted over two channels.
Step 4
But it may happen that the DVD and the TV do not have the same connectors, in which case you will have to use an adapter wire. They combine various combinations of connectors: SCART-3RCA, SCART-6RCA, SCART-S-video + 2RCA. These adapters allow the ability to connect both in one direction and in the opposite direction: SCART - to TV or SCART - to DVD.
