An integral part of any cooker is its burners. It is thanks to these heating elements that we cook and heat our food, boil water and do many other useful things. However, sometimes there is a situation when, after buying a new stove for some reason, does not want to work. Then you will have to thoroughly check the acquired equipment, paying special attention to its burners.
Instructions
Step 1
To check the correct operation of the burners on your kitchen (gas) stove, you will first of all need to turn on the stove itself, supplying gas with the help of special handles sequentially to each of the burners. The burners are switched on by switching the corresponding knob to 6 different positions, both clockwise and counterclockwise. As a rule, you can see the direction of rotation on the hob of the stove or in the instruction manual. With the help of the corresponding regulator one of the following modes can be selected: 0 - off; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - average power; 6 - maximum power.
Step 2
To light one of the burners, bring a lighted match or lighter to it, press it all the way and turn the corresponding burner knob counterclockwise to the maximum power position. The gas automatically comes on and the indicator lamp for the corresponding cooking zone comes on. On models equipped with a safety device, keep the knob of the hotplate pressed for about 6 seconds until the device that automatically keeps the flame warms up. In models equipped with a spark plug, to ignite the desired burner, you must first press the spark button marked with an asterisk, then push it all the way and turn the corresponding knob counterclockwise to the maximum flame position.
Step 3
Some models are equipped with a built-in ignition device inside the handle. In this case, the hob has spark plugs instead of buttons. To turn on the desired burner, just press the corresponding knob all the way and turn it counterclockwise to the maximum flame position, holding it until the flame is ignited.
Step 4
A suitable cookware must be used for each hotplate so that the flame does not escape from under its bottom. Always use pots and pans with a flat bottom and a lid. When boiling, turn the knob to the medium power position. If the flame on the burner goes out during operation (for example, it is blown out by a draft), the burner will ignite automatically. If repeated ignition does not result in a flame (for example, due to food residues spilled on the burner), the gas flow to this burner is interrupted and the indicator of the burner starts flashing. Turn the knob clockwise to the off position and try to rectify the problem, then try to re-ignite the hotplate. At the end of cooking, to turn off the hotplate, turn the knob clockwise to the "off" position, until the flame goes out - the indicator of the hotplate will go out.
