The sound system gives the car a finished look. The main part of the acoustics is the subwoofer, but this is not a cheap pleasure at all. You can save money on the "sub" if you make a case with your own hands.

Instructions

Step 1

First, decide what shape your subwoofer will be. The easiest way to make a sealed enclosure is in the form of a truncated pyramid.

Step 2

Download the JBL speaker shop software. You will need it to calculate the size of the case. To begin with, enter the volume data specified by the manufacturer in the program, for example, 31 liters. For each car, according to the specified parameters, the program itself will determine the required geometric dimensions of the body.

Step 3

Run the Enclosure module. Select the BOX-> Dimension tab at the top. In the dialog box that opens, in the upper right corner, select the geometric proportions of the box. Enter the parameters that you would like for your trunk, and the program will display the optimal data for you.

Step 4

Take a pencil and mark the dimensions that you got in the JBL program. Use a jigsaw to carefully cut the walls and mark them so as not to confuse. If you spoil something, be sure to redo it, as each unevenness will affect the sound of the subwoofer in the future. Then use a jigsaw to make a seat for the speaker.

Step 5

Without screwing on the sides of the case, try on to make sure everything is cut correctly. Be careful when twisting the box, as too many screws can damage the plywood.

Step 6

Now grease the surface of each wall with sealant and let dry. Assemble the box, twist the screws. Spread the rest of the sealant along the seams with a spatula. Your enclosure must be completely sealed and free of cracks.

Step 7

Replace the speaker and screw it down.

Step 8

Take the trim, measure it. It is desirable that the pieces are large - so there will be noticeably fewer joints. Thoroughly grease the material with glue and tighten the body.

Step 9

Turn on the subwoofer and check if it works. You won't see the sound you want right away. This requires customization. Connect the subwoofer to an amplifier and tune.
