V-RAY is an element used to create 3D images and objects with 3D MAX. V-RAY materials can be created manually, or you can use ready-made samples, download them from the Internet and install.
Instructions
Step 1
Download the necessary installation files from the Internet to install vray materials. Some materials are included with the installer, some separately. In case you have downloaded the "naked" material, also download the GetYouWant program from the Internet. It is a very simple and user-friendly interface to help you install vray materials. If you downloaded the materials bundled with the installer, do the following.
Step 2
Disable your antivirus. This is necessary so that the materials can be safely unpacked. For some unknown reason, any antivirus program perceives these files as malicious software. Reconfiguring antivirus is a waste of time, so just turn it off for a while.
Step 3
Also, don't forget to log out of the internet. The moment the antivirus is disabled, your computer will be completely defenseless against really malicious software. You shouldn't risk it, because you won't even have time to try out the materials you just installed.
Step 4
Run the installation file to add vray materials to the 3D MAX library. Confirm all installation steps. To do this, click the OK button. After the installation of the components is complete, restart your personal computer. Then start the 3D MAX program. Press the F10 button.
Step 5
Select the materials you just installed from the list and start creating. It is best to create such materials yourself, especially if you take into account that the program allows it. There are many video tutorials and instructions for creating vray materials. One way or another, you still have to fit this or that type of material to the modeled object. With your own hand-made material, this will be much easier to do.
