The IMEI code is unique for each mobile phone. Thanks to him, the phone is identified on the network and can be detected by law enforcement agencies in case of loss. To determine the authenticity of your Nokia phone, you need to check its IMEI number.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a close look at the box in which your Nokia phone was sold. A sticker should be glued on it, which indicates the serial number of the phone and its IMEI code. Rewrite this 15-digit number. It should be noted that the first 6 digits indicate the model code of the mobile device, while the first two indicate the manufacturer's country code. The next 2 digits refer to the end-manufacturer code, followed by 6 digits of the serial number and the last digit is a spare identifier and is most often zero.
Step 2
Open the Nokia phone battery and gently pry it up and out of the device. Below it should be the basic information about the mobile phone: model name, serial number and IMEI code. The latter should be exactly the same as the one you copied from the package. This check must be carried out without fail during the purchase of the device in order to protect yourself from counterfeiting.
Step 3
Switch on your Nokia mobile phone and enter * # 06 # on the keyboard. This operation can be performed without an inserted SIM card. As a result, the screen will display the IMEI number of your device. If it differs from those indicated under the battery and on the box, then it means that your Nokia phone has been flashed.
Step 4
In this case, you will not be able to service it in branded service centers, and the warranty certificate issued by the seller can simply be thrown into the trash. Also, if the IMEI number is not native to the phone, then problems with communication with the mobile operator may occur. The fact is that when the SIM card is activated, they fix this value and are already connected to the network relative to it. If the phone has been flashed, then there is a possibility that several devices have this IMEI number, which will interfere with the normal operation of each other in the same network.
