Quite often there is a need to turn off the GPRS / EDGE data transmission in the phone for a while. This should be done especially in roaming conditions in order to temporarily not use the service. Also, the service has to be turned off when the traffic is exceeded.
Instructions
Step 1
Dial the sequence * # 4777 * 8665 # (for Samsung phones). In the "Attach mode settings" menu that opens, select the "gprs detach" item, uncheck it. Disconnect the mobile phone and switch it on again, after which the option will be deactivated.
Step 2
To disable the EDGE service, slightly change the APN access parameters through which you receive this service. It is enough to put a full stop at the end of the APN address. When requesting data in this case, you will receive the message "Service is not connected" and they will not be transmitted. To return the service, replace the setting with the correct one by removing the dot.
Step 3
Use the SBSetting utility. This program can be downloaded from the Internet in the public domain. Install it on your phone, go to the menu and find the option to enable / disable EDGE.
Step 4
If you have an iPhone iOS 4.0, disabling EDGE won't be difficult. Go to the phone menu, select the "Settings" section, then the "General" item, then "Network". Disable the Cellular Data option. After its activation, no program will enter the Internet using GPRS traffic.
Step 5
Go to the mobile internet browser Safari. Follow the link "iPhone No Data. Com". Then click on the button that says "Turn off EDGE / 3G" (ie, turn off). The "Install" button will appear in the open dialog box, click on it. Next, a dialog box with the "Install Now" button will appear. Click on it, thereby disabling the EDGE service on your iPhone. Please note that if you use WiFi connection, it is not necessary to disable this option.
Step 6
Call the customer service of the mobile operator "Beeline" if you are a subscriber of this network. Ask to deactivate the automatically connected "Any apn" service, which is responsible for providing the EDGE service. With zero "Apn" the phone will not go online. Or ask to disable the GPRS service (EDGE is a simple extension that allows GPRS to operate at a higher speed).
