Steam generators are used in a wide variety of industries and are essential for the production of steam. They can also be used in the home for cleaning and disinfecting various surfaces. Such steam generators make it possible to completely eliminate the use of synthetic detergents and reduce water consumption.

Instructions

Step 1

Use a propane gas cylinder as the basis for your future steam generator. Its size is selected depending on how much steam needs to be produced. Taking into account safety rules, release all gas from the cylinder, then carefully unscrew the brass valve. It is necessary to wash the inside. To do this, use your usual dish detergent and warm water. Wash the cylinder until the gas smell disappears. Let the housing dry thoroughly.

Step 2

Embed the heating element into the bottom of the cylinder. Develop a fastening for them yourself from the available materials, taking into account that it must withstand a pressure of at least 6 atmospheres and allow you to change electric heating elements in case of burnout. These elements are selected at the rate of 3 kW per 10 liters of water.

Step 3

Install four additional threaded tubes on top of the cylinder. Automation devices, a pressure relief valve and a valve for filling the steam generator with water will be screwed onto them. On the side, also weld a tube with a ball valve at a distance of 10 cm from the top point. It will act as a liquid level. When the bottle is filled with water, this valve opens. As soon as water flows from it, you must stop the process.

Step 4

Modify the brass cylinder valve. Saw it in half. Remove the top pin and re-drill 15mm holes. Cut the threads and screw on the ball valve, which is used for steam extraction.

Step 5

Use ready-made pointer contact manometers as instrumentation for the steam generator. One sensor will control the pressure and the other will control the temperature. Connect the devices in series, which will turn off the heating when a limitation is triggered by one of the parameters. The pick-up coil of a magnetic starter can be used as a load.
