In the modern world, permeated through and through with high technologies, people are often not limited to purchasing a home computer for work, study or entertainment. Moreover, the presence of one or another mobile computer device is gradually turning from a luxury into an urgent need.

Which is better to choose: netbook or tablet

Until a few years ago, the choice of mobile devices was limited to smartphones and laptops. The former were cell phones with advanced functions: Internet access, video viewing, the ability to install applications and synchronize with a personal computer, and the latter were generally a full-fledged computer, but in a more compact design. Now, netbooks and tablet computers have been added to the range of options, and it has become more difficult to figure out why one type of mobile device is better than another.

Compactness and speed

The tablet computer is essentially a continuation of the smartphone idea. It is more suitable for various entertainment: watching movies, playing games, reading books, visiting the Internet. Its indisputable advantages: compactness and relatively powerful battery. On the other hand, the tablet is poorly suited for work, since in most cases it has only a virtual keyboard, which greatly complicates typing.

In addition, tablets use special operating systems, the number of applications for which is limited. Finally, tablet computers do not have the ability to connect external devices, and synchronization with a computer is carried out only using wireless technologies, that is, in order to send a file from a computer to a tablet, you will have to send it via Bluetooth or e-mail.

Full functionality

Unlike a tablet, a netbook is almost a full-fledged computer, but reduced in size. It has a full-fledged keyboard, a familiar operating system is installed on it (for example, Windows), you can connect hard disks, input and output devices to the netbook, and also connect it to local networks. Naturally, the possibility of a wireless Internet connection is also present. Unfortunately, the netbook's battery is only rated for a few hours of use.

The compact size is a serious limitation to the performance of netbooks: you shouldn't expect to be able to play modern games on a small computer. In general, in terms of performance, netbooks and tablets are similar, but we must not forget that a netbook has a full-fledged operating system, and therefore is much more versatile. In addition, in the case of a netbook, you will not have any problems with file compatibility, since absolutely the same programs are used to create and edit them, to which you are accustomed to on a regular computer.

Comparing netbooks and tablets is not entirely correct, since these devices have fundamentally different functions, tasks and capabilities. If you want to read news and books, watch movies, play and chat, then a tablet will be a more reasonable choice, but if you are planning to purchase a device for work, then it is better to stay on a netbook, because with comparable, in principle, sizes, it can be used with a larger benefit. Finally, don't forget about the price difference: currently netbooks are slightly cheaper than tablets.
