Necessary

Epoxy glue (800 g), sheets of paper, rough cloth, cooking foil, plastic water pipe, self-tapping screws, old satellite dish

Instructions

Step 1

Dismantle the factory satellite dish, lay down and secure it. Buy 800 gr. epoxy glue. Glue the A4 sheets cut in half on top of the antenna using adhesive tape; the newspaper cannot be used. Better to use plastic wrap, which also needs to be cut into small pieces. Because if you use a large sheet, there will be large irregularities and there will be no signal. You need to spread it as evenly as possible along the concavity of the antenna.

Step 2

Cut pieces of rough cloth to fit the antenna mirror. For a start, 4-5 parts are enough. Stir cool epoxy glue and in an amount of no more than 200g. If using at room temperature, it will not saturate the fabric. Place the first piece of fabric on a plate and spread epoxy glue on top. Spread evenly, it should shine on the surface, and not completely absorb. Approximately one sheet for a satellite dish with a diameter of 0.6 m requires 100-200 grams. epoxy glue, it all depends on the fabric. Then put a second sheet of fabric on top and smooth so that there is no air inside. Spread it with epoxy glue and put another one on top. In one approach, it is advisable to stack more sheets, at least 5.

Step 3

Wait 24 hours for the glue to harden. Separate the frame from the plate the next day. Then put it back again. Put the rest of the sheets of fabric, there should be a large number of them. Then place the cooking foil over the epoxy-coated frame. Stick the foil tightly without getting air underneath.

Remove the frame after drying. For stiffness, glue a few more layers of fabric on the back.

Step 4

Use a 16mm plastic water pipe to hold the converter. For strength, attach at three points to the self-tapping screws. Be careful not to tilt the antenna mirror. The distance from it to the convector is like in a factory satellite dish, measure it and do it. Cover the antenna mirror with a thin layer of paint from a spray can, so that in the bright summer sun, the sun's rays, focusing, do not melt the converter.
