Carrying two devices with you at once - a mobile phone and a radio - is inconvenient. It is much better when they are combined in one device. And if your phone does not have this function, a special headset with a cord receiver will come to the rescue.

Instructions

Step 1

Connect a wired headset or headphones to your phone. You won't be able to listen to regular FM radio with a wireless headset - the cord is used as an antenna. The only exceptions are Just5, Fly Ezzy and similar phones - they are equipped with built-in VHF antennas.

Step 2

Find the item in the phone menu that allows you to turn on the radio. Its location depends on the manufacturer and model of the device. Please note that the receiver built into the telephone is a single-band receiver - it can only receive stations in the frequency range from 88 to 108 MHz. Use the horizontal arrow keys to select the desired frequency and start listening.

Step 3

To adjust the volume, depending on the type of phone, use the vertical arrow keys or the long double key on the right side of the phone. If you want, you can turn on the speaker, but you will have to leave the headphones connected to the phone. If the application detects that the headphones are missing, it displays an error message and automatically closes.

Step 4

If you are using a Sony Ericsson phone and it is not equipped with a built-in receiver, please ask your phone shop if a special receiver headset is suitable for your device. Included in the break in its cord is a tiny block (half the size of a matchbox), which has several buttons and its own display with blue backlight - it is he who receives the signals from the stations. There is no need to buy batteries for it - it receives power supply from the phone itself.

Step 5

To listen to Internet radio stations, you need a smartphone, for example, running on the Symbian or Android operating system. If it was released before 2010 inclusive, find in its menu the application built into the firmware for receiving Internet radio, and in the device of an older model (released before 2004 inclusive) you will have to install a special program, for example, Mundu Radio or Virtual Radio.

Step 6

Correctly configure the access point (APN), connect the operator with unlimited Internet access at a tariff that suits you (or connect your phone to your home WiFi router). After launching the program, select the desired station from the list or enter a direct link to its audio stream. A wired headset is not necessary for listening to Internet radio, but the cell phone battery will drain very quickly.
