Step 1
Buy a firmware cable. Not every Siemens phone cable is suitable for this. It is better if it is a proprietary Siemens DCA 510 or Siemens DCA 512 cable. Install the drivers on the computer from the disk that came with the cable. Then plug in the cable. A virtual com port will appear in the system.
Step 2
Determine the software version of your phone. To do this, press * # 06 #, you will see the identification number of the phone, then left-click to enter the menu “Dr. func. . Remember the firmware version.
Step 3
Find and download the latest firmware for your phone model from the Internet. In this case, the firmware program and the firmware itself are a single whole. You can use the Update Tool and WinSwup to update the firmware. If you managed to purchase Siemens DCA 510/512 cables, you can limit yourself to using the Update Tool.
Step 4
Run the Update Tool. In the program window, click the "Start" and "Next" buttons. Connect the cable to your phone. The program will start searching for the phone on the com ports. When the phone is found, it will turn off and the flashing process will begin. After it ends, the device turns on. The firmware process itself can take from fifteen to forty minutes. It depends on the phone model. Older models are stitched faster. If the program does not detect the phone, it is possible to flash it manually. The program itself will suggest it in this case. Turn off the phone, click "Next" and specify in the program window the virtual com-port to which it is connected (in fact, the cable is connected via a USB port). Then follow the instructions of the program.
Step 5
If you could not find DCA 510/512 cables, and your cable is of another brand, for example, MA8720C (P) or on a PL2303 chip, then you will not be able to flash the device with the Update Tool. Make this utility WinSwup.
