If you are engaged in electronics and / or repair of electronic equipment, then from time to time you have to deal with the need to solder SMD microcircuits. This process must be done very carefully so as not to damage the device. To solve this problem, one of the known methods can be chosen.

Necessary

  • - soldering iron;
  • - hot air gun;
  • - tweezers.

Instructions

Step 1

Take the braid and remove excess tin from the legs of the SMD chip. Take a thin wire less than 0.3 mm in diameter. If you do not have one, then you can simply disassemble the stranded wire into its constituent elements. Next, push this wire under the legs of the microcircuit, which must be evaporated.

Step 2

Use fine tweezers to make this part easier. After the wire has been pulled, it must be secured. For example, solder it neatly to an unnecessary part of the board, or wind it around the nearest plug. This is necessary so that in the future you do not worry about the wire popping out and ruining the work.

Step 3

Preheat the soldering iron to about 230 degrees. Stretch the wire and heat all the legs of the microcircuit in turn. Thus, disconnect one part, unsolder one part of the microcircuit. Repeat this procedure with the other half. When there are few legs left for desoldering, the microcircuit can deform, which can damage its structure.

Step 4

Try to hold it with your hand. After the process is over, take the microcircuit and tweezers in your hands and align all the legs. If necessary, use a heated soldering iron to remove the remaining tin.

Step 5

Use a hot air gun to solder the SMD chip. To do this, turn the board over and warm it up. Try not to overheat the device so as not to damage other working parts. Thus, the legs of the microcircuit are heated until the moment when they are calmly disconnected using ordinary tweezers. After that, heat the soldering iron and clean the microcircuit from the tin residues.

Step 6

Remember that before you start soldering the microcircuit, it must be degreased. To do this, rinse the board in acetone solution. A similar operation must be carried out while working with a soldering iron, if you touched the chip with your hands. This will prevent possible damage.
