Passion for radio electronics (or an in-depth school course in physics) sometimes requires the independent manufacture of a capacitor, which, however, is not a deficit. This process is interesting and instructive, because by making a capacitor, you can better understand the principle of its operation.
Necessary
- - foil
- - waxed paper (can be made from tissue paper by processing it with molten paraffin), 50x300 mm
Instructions
Step 1
Fold the waxed paper in an accordion manner with a section of about 30 mm.
Step 2
Place a 30x45 mm strip of foil in each fold.
Step 3
Fold the accordion up and iron it with a warm iron.
Step 4
Connect the pieces of foil sticking out to each other and connect the conductors to them through which the capacitor will be included in the circuit.
Step 5
This way you get a capacitor of constant capacitance, depending on the amount of used foil (1 strip gives approximately 100 pF capacitance).
