Firmware, or in Russian, firmware is software that is built into a hardware device and controls its operation. Almost every modern device has its own firmware, from a modem to digital cameras.

Step 1
Users are usually not advised to install the firmware on their devices on their own. Manufacturers thus warn against possible breakdowns that may occur during flashing. Therefore, in most cases, in order to install a new firmware, for example, in a mobile phone, it is better to contact an authorized service that can give a guarantee for its work.
Step 2
However, if you are confident in your abilities and do not need a guarantee, before installing the firmware, study the corresponding instructions in detail on the forums and specialized sites. Depending on the device you are going to flash, you may need to do some preliminary preparation. Before starting the installation of the firmware, do not forget to save all important data, if possible, or make a full backup of all information.
Step 3
Depending on the type of device, the firmware installation algorithm may be different. In most cases, the process of flashing a device is not complicated and you need three main components:
• Program for communication with the device;
• Directly firmware;
• Connection cable.
In addition, sometimes it is required to additionally download a special flasher program.
Step 4
During the flashing, by connecting the device to the computer and running the appropriate programs, avoid two situations that can lead to the failure of your device. Firstly, before the end of the program, do not disconnect the connecting cable under any circumstances. Secondly, avoid power surges and power outages. To do this, in advance, connect your computer and the device you are reflashing to an uninterruptible power supply.
