For most users of USB modems, the problem of signal quality amplification is acute. To solve it, it is recommended to connect an additional antenna to the modem, which is easy to make yourself.

Instructions
Step 1
Consider one important point, if your modem does not have a port for connecting an antenna, then you will have to install it instead of the standard one, which later will not work at all. First, prepare all the necessary parts from which you will create an antenna.
Step 2
Cut two strips of metal or foil-clad fiberglass. They should be 1–2 mm thick, 10 mm wide, and 50–70 cm long. Prepare some pieces of copper wire. Its thickness should not exceed 2 mm. You can use copper wire for this.
Step 3
Gently solder the pre-cut pieces of copper wire to the prepared strips. Make the distance between the pins the same, but it should not be too great. In total, you will need to solder 12-14 pieces to each plate. The pins should be staggered on both sides of the plates.
Step 4
Using a wire cutter, align the length of all soldered pins. Now cut four rectangular strips with dimensions of 15x10 mm from fiberglass. Drill holes for the coaxial cable in them.
Step 5
Select three plates and remove some of the foil on both sides. Leave the fourth plate unchanged.
Step 6
Solder these plates to one of the pin strips you created. Place a non-insulated plate on one of the edges. Now solder the second plate to the resulting structure.
Step 7
Now take a 50 ohm coaxial cable and push it through the prepared holes. The end of the cable must be adjacent to an uninsulated jumper. Attach the cable sheath to one plate and the conductor to the other. Be sure to seal the cable solder. You can use glue or sealant for this.
Step 8
Now make an antenna mount to connect it to the USB modem, or solder the braid and core to its insides instead of the standard antenna. Install the created antenna with the pins vertically. Connect the antenna to the modem.
