Batteries are a dangerous element for the environment: one finger-type battery contains a large amount of metals, which is enough to pollute about 20 square meters of land. For the disposal of energy sources, there are special recycling points to which it is necessary to hand over all used batteries.

Step 1
When the battery is disposed of in a landfill, the metal coating of the energy carrier is destroyed, and all heavy metals that are in its composition enter the soil and water, increasing the risk of heavy metal poisoning for people. And if the battery is burnt during the incineration procedure, all metals will be released into the atmosphere.
Step 2
Find a battery collection point in your city. To search, you can use the Internet or contact the help desk for all the information you need.
Step 3
Collect any batteries that are already dead and have reached the end of their life. Place them in a separate container and take them to the address you found earlier. In addition to conventional AA batteries, you can include any other batteries in these items, regardless of their contents. For example, you can give the battery of your phone, laptop or any other device to this point.
Step 4
It is worth noting that in order to dispose of a large number of batteries (weighing more than 150-200 kg), some companies leave on their own and take all the energy sources necessary for disposal. Among the companies involved in recycling, there may be suppliers of various electronics, offices of online stores. In some cities, battery collection points are even present in libraries.
Step 5
There are a small number of recycling companies in Russia. Basically, this problem is dealt with by European companies that have their own business in the Russian Federation. In most Russian cities, the collection of used batteries is still not organized, and all collection points are predominantly volunteer.
