First of all, let's decide on the type of TV. Currently, there are four main types of TVs: LCD, plasma, CRT and projection.

CRT TVs create an image using a cathode ray tube. This technology has existed since the birth of television and all this time has been continuously improved, reaching very decent indicators in the quality of the picture, its size, weight and dimensions of the TV set. However, with the advent of plasma and LCD screens, CRT TVs quickly left the arena, taking the modest place of "TV for the kitchen" or "TV for the summer cottage." The advantages of such TVs are low price, reliability, durability, as well as the most natural picture colors. Disadvantages - small size and complexity of adjusting the convergence of the rays, which is necessary to obtain a picture without distortion.

Plasma displays are expensive and consume a lot of power, and color accuracy is not ideal. However, they are large enough, brightness, the picture is clearly visible from all angles of view, there is no flicker or radiation harmful to humans.

LCD panels are the most promising type of TV. Their disadvantages are their high cost and the possibility of color distortion in cases where the angle of view differs from the direct one. However, the rest of the picture is of very high quality, the weight of the TV itself is small, and the power consumption is modest.

Projection TVs come in many different types, each with their own disadvantages. In general, this design has received the least distribution.

Having decided on the type, it remains to choose a TV by size. Here, not only the diagonal of the screen plays a role, but also its proportions. The previously generally accepted 4: 3 standard, in which most TV channels are broadcast today, is replaced by the expanded 16: 9. It is not very convenient to watch ordinary TV channels on a wide screen, but they are ideal for watching videos and some satellite channels broadcasting in this format.
