The gamepad, by itself, is much more convenient for gaming than a keyboard and mouse: the verified shape, the presence of analog sticks and inherent vibration make it the most popular gaming device. However, the vibration mode (or, as it is also called, "feedback") of the controller does not always work stably, and often requires debugging.
It is necessary
- -Installation disc;
- -Access to the Internet.
Instructions
Step 1
Start a game that supports joystick control. In the "Options" check that the vibration mode is on, and go through one or two levels. Typically, feedback is a reaction to events in the game - a character receiving damage, an explosion, a cutscene, or going to the sidelines. If for 10-15 minutes of playing the gamepad does not shake in your hands, then, most likely, something is wrong.
Step 2
Find the "vibration" button. As a rule, it is located on the front panel, near "mode". When you press a key, the joystick will vibrate - this confirms the technical serviceability of the device. Please note that this key disables which means, respectively, disabling or enabling the very possibility of the function.
Step 3
Install the drivers. You can find them on the official website of the manufacturer, or on the attached installation disc. The standard package includes not only registry files, but also several programs for calibrating and debugging the device. For example, for the Logitech Rumblepad 2, both a calibration program and a joystick test are installed. In it, by pressing various keys, you call combinations of sounds and corresponding feedback signals - having tried all the possible options, you will make sure that the vibration works absolutely fine.
Step 4
Check if your controller is compatible with this game. You can conventionally divide gaming devices into two generations - old and new. Externally, the joystick may not differ in any way from a similar model, but in fact it will work according to a completely different algorithm. It doesn't matter for older games, but newer products have serious compatibility issues - in particular with vibration. Therefore, even if the gamepad is absolutely serviceable, it could simply become obsolete. New models come with a “For Windows” label on the packaging.
