Computer owners can easily print the desired text or page of the site on a printer. The owners of cell phones were deprived of this convenience, but the studio Berg from London undertook to fix the situation, which presented a special printer for the iPhone.
The need to create a small printer that allows you to print sms messages and other texts is long overdue. And in mid-August 2012 the London studio Berg announced the acceptance of orders for the mini-printer it created for smartphones with iOS and Android operating systems. The new device is called Little Printer and costs 199 pounds. In the US, orders are accepted for $ 259, the first owners will see the new gadgets around mid-October.
The new printer lives up to its name as it is very compact. True, its appearance leaves much to be desired - it is a small plastic cube that fits in the palm of your hand with a couple of buttons. Printing is carried out on thermal paper, so ink is not required for the Little Printer. The printer is supplied with an AC adapter with different types of outlets, three rolls of thermal paper and a special device BERG Cloud Bridge, with which you can transfer all the necessary information to the printer.
Little Printer can print a feed several times a day, composed of the information the user needs - for example, the weather forecast, messages from social networks, news, etc. You can customize the information sent to the printer in the mobile application, defining what data and how often should be printed. The partners of the Berg studio in this project are large companies - Google and Foursquare, the British newspaper The Guardian, and other information publications.
While the new device is interesting enough, users have yet to figure out how useful it is. The small format of the printout does not allow displaying large images and texts on it; most of all, it resembles an ordinary cashier's check. Black and white printing also imposes its limitations, besides, text on thermal paper fades quite quickly, which means that printed ribbons can be stored for no more than a few months. The mobility of the device also inspires serious doubts - it is unlikely that the owner of the smartphone will carry the Little Printer with him, while indoors it is possible to use a computer, laptop or tablet, printing the necessary data on a regular printer. In its current form, the new gadget will most likely just remain a fun novelty, as its usefulness and usability are in question.
