Most often, such a mechanism is required for a homemade crossbow - a medieval weapon that is today used as a sports weapon.

a lever, several springs or safety pins, a trigger, a nail, a set of tools, a crossbow or its accessories, a box for a trigger of the desired size
Instructions
Step 1
Set the lever so that it holds the bowstring of the crossbow. It will be protected from a premature shot directly by the trigger or trigger, which will need to be secured with springs. Obviously, by pulling the trigger, the lever moves and the bowstring releases the arrow.
Step 2
Connect the trigger and lever with whatever spring you can find. Safety pins are sometimes used for this. Do this so that when the trigger (trigger) is pulled, the lever immediately releases the lever, and the string is released. By the way, you need to take two pins so that the trigger springs in both directions - it must return to its place after the arrow is fired.
Step 3
Secure the trigger using small bolts or a bent nail. Thus, you can easily make a trigger for a crossbow.
