For people who lead an active lifestyle, portable radios are sometimes needed. This class mainly includes walkie-talkies, for which no special permission is required, which can be registered without any special difficulties and documents. They operate in the 433 MHz frequency range. These radios are especially popular among hunters or tourists, and are also useful for fishing enthusiasts. So they don't have to strain their voices too much, and the likelihood of getting lost is significantly reduced.

Step 1
The amateur radio is quite simple to set up.
Do not start by converting the walkie-talkie to Russian standards. Most likely, your walkie-talkie already has the ability to work in the "Russian network", besides, the operating parameters of the device may suffer during reconfiguration.
Step 2
First, choose a callsign, the so-called personal identification signal. Officially, it must fully match your radio license number. If unofficially, then just take some kind of digital or alphabetic pseudonym. Choose a word consisting of 6 letters, the interpretation of which will be extremely clear and unambiguous, which will be easy to make out if the reception is not very confident. Make sure no one you know has chosen the same callsign for themselves.
Step 3
To tune the antenna, use an instrument called a SWR meter. You simply cannot do without it. When first zooming in, tune the antenna for the minimum value of the standing wave ratio (SWR). Make sure the ratio is less than 1.5.
Step 4
Remember that if you work for a long time at SWR> 3, you can easily damage the transmitter stage. Press the microphone button and adjust the antenna according to the maximum LED illumination.
Step 5
If everything works correctly, proceed to the 160 meter range. If you plan to communicate with the owners of such radios, then further configuration can be considered almost complete, but if your communication desires extend to users with slightly different radios, try to find the band bands they use and connect within them.
