A guitar processor is a device for processing the signal of an electric guitar. It is a versatile device that can replace multiple pedals. Using the processor allows you to apply various effects. Their quality may be slightly worse than when using separate devices. But the processor can be tuned to keep the difference in quality to a minimum.
It is necessary
- - processor;
- - instruction;
- - power adapter;
- - electric guitar;
- - amplifier;
- - 2-3 cords with jack-jack connectors.
Instructions
Step 1
Inspect the processor connectors. They can be of different types. Since it is impractical to change them on the device itself or on the guitar, it is best to immediately purchase or unsolder wires with suitable connectors.
Step 2
Pick up your power adapter. Its type is indicated in the instructions. When determining the type of connectors, you probably already paid attention to the presence of two sockets. The moment has come to get to know them better. On one of them you will see the inscription Input, on the other - Output. Plug the first wire into the Input jack. Insert the second connector of the same cord into the socket on the guitar body. It is designed to connect different devices.
Step 3
Take the second wire. Plug it into the Output jack on your guitar processor. Connect the second connector to the Input jack of your guitar amp. Connect the adapter to the power socket of the set-top box. Only then can it be connected to the network. Without load, the adapter may burn out.
Step 4
Determine if your amp has an effects loop. In this case, a slightly different connection type is used. It will take not two, but three wires. It's easy to find out if this feature is available. Examine the back of the amplifier. There should be inputs labeled Send and Return, that is, send and return. If they are, plug the guitar into the Input jack of the amp. In this case, connect the Send input to the Input jack of your guitar processor. Connect the Return input to the Output jack. This type of connection provides the best sound for your guitar.
Step 5
Some processors have additional battery power. Batteries are used when interference or interference is detected in the electrical network, which is heard during the performance of a piece of music. If the hum and interference do not disappear when switching to battery power, it is necessary to provide grounding. Typically, the amp is grounded because the processor case is connected to the guitar amp case through a braided shield cable.
