Information located on removable media is often overwritten and replaced with a new one, which is why one day it may become necessary to recover deleted files from a flash drive. For such an operation, there are special applications with the appropriate functionality.
Instructions
Step 1
Use one of the suitable free applications to recover deleted files from a USB flash drive. Similar programs can be found on the Internet and subsequently installed on a computer. Recuva has solid functionality and efficiency. This application can recover not only flash drives, but also CDs, floppy disks and other media.
Step 2
Install and then open Recuva. Specify the type of files to be restored or check the "Other" item to return any possible information. Click "Browse" and select your USB stick. Activate the deeper analysis option to enhance search and recovery. When the procedure is complete, you will see the result. The program will find files that can still be "saved" (they will be highlighted in green). Yellow files have equal chances of being restored or completely lost, while red files are no longer subject to "treatment".
Step 3
The domestic program DMDE, which does not require installation, also helps to quickly and almost completely recover files from a USB flash drive. Just download and click on its launch file. Select your USB flash drive as the desired device. Wait until the search for lost files is completed. Go to "Open Volume".
Step 4
Activate the File System Restore feature. The detected files will appear on the right side of the application or in the $ Root folder on the left. Right-click on the desired one and select the "Restore" item, then specify the path to save it. It will not be possible to restore all objects at the same time in the free version, so the program will be useful only when you need to return only a few files.
Step 5
Install the R.saver application, which also recovers deleted files. Unpack the archive and run the program. Immediately after launch, a quick scan of available drives will be performed. Select a USB flash drive and run the "Search for data" or "Data recovery after formatting" process.
Step 6
Wait until the file system is restored, which in this case is performed using the unique IntelliRAW algorithm. Found data folders will gradually appear in the left window. This program allows you to simultaneously restore entire folders with files and save information to a specified location on a hard drive or other media.
