A microphone is an electro-acoustic device designed to convert acoustic sound into electrical signals. Through it, the sound is either recorded or transmitted to amplification devices. In order to make the right choice, you need to know the basic parameters of the microphone:
Sound: Monaural sound - with it sounds that belong to different sources, as if coming from the same point. Such sounding leads to sound distortion and impairment of the perception of space.
Stereo sound is a system that stores information about the location of a sound source through two or more independent audio channels.
Frequency Response (Hz): These are the upper or lower limits of the frequencies within which the microphone records sound.
Sensitivity (dB): This characteristic indicates how much output voltage is observed at the microphone when it is subjected to sound pressure. The higher the value, the more sensitive the microphone is.
Impedance: This is the value of the resistance to alternating current and is measured in ohms (ohms).

Microphone types:
Dynamic microphones are the most popular and common type. Compared to other models, dynamic microphones have a number of advantages: rather low price and at the same time reliability, as well as the ability to work with high sound pressure.
Currently, there are many types of dynamic microphones, for example, some of them are specially designed for picking up sound from a drum or for sounding a double bass.
Condenser microphones are a more advanced type than the previous one. This type of microphone is more difficult to manufacture and, as a result, much more expensive than dynamic microphones, but they provide much better sound quality.
Electret microphones. The difference between this type and others is that electret microphones do not need external power sources, but their sensitivity and frequency characteristics are somewhat worse.
