The American company Amazon seeks to constantly improve its existing products, as well as to gradually expand the scope of its activities. In particular, the organization plans to release modified versions of the popular tablet, and then start production of a new group of products - smartphones.
In the fourth quarter of 2011, Amazon management received a pleasant surprise: the Kindle Fire tablet turned out to be much more in demand and popular than analysts had expected. In just three months, about 4.8 million devices were sold, thanks to which the volume of tablets sold by Amazon reached 14% of the total volume of such products on the market. Unfortunately, a little later it was announced the development of a number of tablets from other companies, the cost of which turned out to be attractive enough to make the sales of the Kindle Fire fall by about 6 times at the beginning of 2012.
After analyzing the situation, the company's management determined the further course of action, adjusting the plans drawn up earlier. It was decided to release an analogue of the popular Kindle Fire, but with a 10-inch diagonal. New tablet models will be refined and improved, while it is planned to reduce the cost of such devices to a minimum, if possible, so that they can compete with their counterparts produced by other companies. Perhaps Amazon will also start producing special economy-class tablets, which will differ in a relatively small display diagonal and a very attractive price.
Amazon intends to gradually improve the characteristics of the new tablets. In particular, the improved Kindle Fire models will be thinner. There are plans to improve their display and add a quality built-in camera. In addition, the developers will have to address a number of shortcomings in the first version of the Kindle Fire. However, the configuration of the tablets is unlikely to undergo major changes. Since there are many devices with very high performance on the market, the competition will be too strong, so Amazon does not plan to engage in new developments and improve the "technical stuffing", while significantly increasing the cost of goods.
And finally, by 2016 the company plans to occupy its niche in the smartphone market. Amazon will start creating new devices in collaboration with Foxconn. At the time of the start of development of its first smartphone in 2012, the company did not want to give any precise information about this device. Nevertheless, some analysts believe that smartphones will join the list of inexpensive functional devices from Amazon and will differ more in availability than unusual configurations.
