The first pager was released by Motorola in 1956, and even in our era of mobile phones, this means of communication is relevant in certain circles. They are used by firefighters, doctors, service workers and other similar organizations. The range of the pager signal is up to 100 km, it works only for reception. In fact, it is a radio receiver that converts signals into digital codes and displays text on the display. It is much cheaper than a mobile phone and is convenient in cases where two-way communication is not necessary.
Instructions
Step 1
Dial the phone number of your paging provider to send the pager message. For each network, as in the case of mobile communications, a specific operator number is provided. Also, the message can be sent from remote terminals, other paging centers, or from the Internet mail service. In this case, the subscriber will be switched to the appropriate servers automatically.
Step 2
Tell the operator the recipient's pager number or the name of the subscriber in the network (name, surname / nickname). Each pager is assigned a specific code (number), which serves as a kind of address through which information reaches the subscriber. The paging operator, in turn, transmits the message to the paging network over the radio channel and indicates this individual code. So it is practically impossible to make a mistake with the address or not receive a message by the subscriber.
Step 3
Dictate your message. The message can be several hundred characters long (up to about 400 characters or 4-5 pages of printed text), including letters and numbers. Messages can be received in both text and digital format.
Step 4
Check with the operator about the correctness of the message received and the personal number of the subscriber. If everything is correct, the message will be delivered to the recipient within a few seconds. Such efficiency is very convenient in cases of an accident on electricity, gas or oil pipelines, when calling the fire brigade or ambulance service, to notify coastal residents about an impending storm, or simply in the absence of a telephone in the country or outside the village. Bulk messaging is convenient for subscribers to receive information about currency purchase and sale data, air and railway inquiries, information about phone numbers and addresses, inquiries - how to get to the desired place in the city (GPRS), etc.
