Fireworks are an indispensable attribute of modern holidays. It is a thrilling sight to be present at its launch. Many people present want to capture bright flashes, but shooting fireworks can be difficult due to inappropriate shooting conditions, especially for non-professionals.
It is necessary
- - Camera;
- - tripod;
- - drain cable.
Instructions
Step 1
The hardest part about shooting fireworks is getting the right frame. If possible, arrive at the filming location early and find out where the launch will be from and where it will be best seen.
Step 2
Find a place where people will not bother you, choose a beautiful foreground. Think in advance which lens will be more convenient to use, what focal length to set.
Step 3
Pay special attention to the correct selection of the focal length, because you will have to quickly point the camera at the desired part of the sky at a certain moment. You will not have time for long selection and composition of the frame. In this regard, it is convenient to use a wide-angle lens, and crop it already in post-processing.
Step 4
Always use a tripod when shooting. In low light, you will have to use a slow shutter speed. When shooting handheld, this will ruin the critical shot, because the slightest jitter will result in a blurry shot.
Step 5
Use a remote control or a cable to release the shutter. This will prevent the camera from additional vibrations and get a picture with perfect sharpness. You can also use the timer to release the shutter, but this does not guarantee that it will fire when you want it.
Step 6
Set the aperture value from f / 8 to f / 16 depending on the environment and the amount of light.
More important than aperture is the choice of shutter speed. Fireworks are in constant motion, therefore, in order to obtain a beautiful frame, it is necessary to correctly select the optimal long-term value.
Step 7
It is best to shoot in “bulb” mode, which will allow you to keep the shutter open for as long as the shutter button is held down. This will help you control the exposure time in real time.
Do not hold the shutter down for too long, as this may result in overexposure of the frame.
Step 8
Shoot with a low Iso value to get rid of noise in your photo, 200 is sufficient.
