Prohibiting the Internet connection in mobile devices running Android may be required while roaming or in order to save money. This task can be solved both by means of the OS itself, and using third-party applications.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the main menu of a mobile device running Android and go to the "Settings" item to turn off the Internet. Select the Wireless Management tab and expand the Mobile Network link. Apply the checkbox to the "Disable" box in the dialog box that opens. Also, take the opportunity to turn off internet roaming and data transfer options in the same section.
Step 2
There is another way to turn off the Internet by standard means of a mobile device running Android. To do this, expand the taskbar at the top of the screen and find five indicators:
- Wi-Fi;
- Bluetooth;
- satellite navigation;
- Mobile Internet;
- vibrating alert.
Determine the state of these operating parameters of your device - a gray icon indicates that the function is inactive. Click on the mobile internet icon and wait for the small cross symbol to appear at the bottom of the icon.
Step 3
Download and install on your Android device a specialized program APNdroid designed to simplify and automate Internet disconnection. An Access Point Name, or APN, is a mobile operator's access point responsible for providing Internet access. The app will help you prevent the use of these points.
Step 4
Pay attention to the possibility of adding a special widget to the screen of a mobile device, which allows you to turn on and off access to the mobile Internet with one click. It is especially worth noting that the program allows you to set individual settings for sending and receiving MMS messages, even when the Internet is disconnected. The APNdroid application is fully Russified and distributed free of charge. The download can be done from the official website of the program.
