Step 1
Make sure your digital camera can be used as a webcam. To do this, connect it to a TV and set it to video recording mode. Make sure the camera is capable of delivering satisfactory video quality. If at the same time it can transmit streaming video, you can connect the camera to Skype.
Step 2
Perform the operation to stream video from the camera to the PC using capture. Use a video capture device (video card or tuner with video input) and composite input (tulip) for this. Connect the cable from the camera to the device to use the camera as a webcam.
Step 3
Install the driver for the video capture device that allows you to record the signal to the hard drive. It cannot broadcast the video signal to the Internet. To do this, you need to intercept and redirect the signal. Use the free SplitCam app for this.
Step 4
Download the program from the link https://splitcam.biz/. Install it on your computer. Connect the adapter or tuner to the computer, i.e. video capture device. Plug the cable into the composite input and connect it to the digital camera output. Set the shut-off timer to the maximum time on the camera.
Step 5
Use the software that comes with the video capture device to make sure that the picture from the camera is being transferred to it. Then launch the SplitCam app. Go to the "File" menu, then "Video Source" and select your device by checking the box next to it. Then go to the Options menu, select Advertisements and check the box next to Exchange ad and video windows to move the video image to a larger window.
Step 6
Start Skype. If the program does not offer to check the video quality, select the signal source manually. To do this, go to the "Tools" menu, select "Settings" - "Video settings", then the item "Select webcam", from the drop-down menu you need to select SplitCam Capture.
