GPRS is a technology that allows data exchange between subscribers in a GSM network. Cellular companies, including MTS, use it to provide users with Internet access.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure your phone supports GPRS connection. You can find out from the instructions for the device or on the manufacturer's website. Currently, GPRS support is present on almost all modern mobile devices.
Step 2
Explore the GPRS services provided by the operator. MTS offers its customers two of them: GPRS-Internet and GPRS-Wap. They differ in that GPRS-Wap is required to view special Wap-sites, and regular sites will be inaccessible when it is connected. Connecting via GPRS-Internet will allow you to fully use the Internet on your mobile device.
Step 3
Insert the SIM card and turn on the phone. When you turn it on for the first time with a new card, you receive an automatic SMS-message from MTS containing the necessary GPRS settings. Save them and your internet connection will be set up. If the settings did not come, connect the services manually.
Step 4
Dial 0022 from your mobile phone with a prepaid tariff plan and follow the instructions of the informant. If you have a contract tariff plan, dial 0880 and use the prompts provided.
Step 5
Set up GPRS on your mobile phone. To do this, specify the following data in the device parameters: for the connection name - MTS Internet, for the Data Channel - Packet data (GPRS). Name the access point internet.mts.ru, username and password - mts. The additional parameters should not be touched and it is better to leave them as they were by default.
Step 6
Connect and configure GPRS using the MTS website. Go to your personal account (login and password can be obtained using the instructions on the page) and open the list of connected services. Select and activate GPRS with the parameters that suit you. Check the connection on your phone.
